Bosch CSM 180 Metal Circular Saw Offers Powerful Motor to Cut Through Tough Metal Materials

Compact size makes this the go-to saw for many jobs

Las Vegas, Nev., Feb. 3, 2015 – When the job is cutting metal with a power tool, there’s no more important component than the motor. The Bosch CSM 180 Metal Circular Saw offers a motor that’s built specifically for varied metal-cutting applications with great speed and long life. A powerful four-pole ferrite motor delivers 18V, 3800 rpm performance that’s equal to any professional metal circular saw in the industry. And greater speed and power are the answer to cutting conduit, unistrut, steel studs, copper piping and threaded rod.

Small size allows the Bosch CSM 180 to reach tasks and applications that larger saws cannot. At only 5.8 lbs. (with 4.0 AH FatPack battery), this metal-cutting saw offers easy handling and fatigue-free work. The compact 14"x7" size is the smallest in the power tool industry.

Bosch-exclusive Electronic Precision Control (EPC) and Electronic Motor Protection (EMP) offer users protection against overheating and overloading for extended tool life and runtime. Single-cell monitoring (5.0 Ah batteries) ensures maximum performance for each individual cell. For 5.0 Ah packs, low resistance cells deliver 25 percent more runtime compared to 4.0 Ah batteries.

“Metal cutting is one of the toughest applications for any power tool,” said John Rose, product manager, metal cutting, Robert Bosch Tool Corporation. “It’s a harsh job that requires both power and agility. The Bosch CSM 180 is built specifically for metal-cutting jobs – and in many instances a tradesman needs a dedicated saw for those jobs.”

A steel footplate with intuitive cut line guide and LED light ensure better cutting accuracy. A clear, impact-resistant window adds to visibility.

Ergonomic, balanced design allows the Bosch CSM 180 Metal Circular Saw to be used in every application, even overhead cutting. And the Bosch CSM 180 is the only metal saw in the market with a saw hook. This simple feature allows the saw to be hung between cuts virtually anywhere.

A custom-designed 5-3/8" Bosch thin kerf 30-tooth carbide blade accompanies the saw. It delivers fast clean cuts and great precision.

Users include electricians, plumbers/pipefitters, HVAC/mechanical tradesmen and metal framers.
