Multi-talented tools feature longer operating lifetime, greater measuring accuracy
Las Vegas, Nev., February 2, 2016 – Carpenters, remodelers and contractors rely on absolute precision when working on the jobsite, where the adage “measure twice, cut once“ is the law. And that’s why Bosch has completely redesigned its line of digital angle finders. The Bosch GAM 220 MF and GAM 270 MFL represent the company’s most advanced digital angle finders, highlighted by an easy-to-read illuminated display, IP 54 protected housing and updated user interfaces.
These angle finders can be used to measure angles for roof joints, stairways and sloped windows, plus creation of trim work, crown molding and making calculations for fast miter saw adjustments. The Bosch GAM 270 MFL combines the angle finder function with a digital inclinometer.
The Bosch GAM 220 MF Digital Angle Finder is four tools in one: an angle finder, a cut calculator, a protractor and a level. It’s ideal for use with a miter saw. The user interface is intuitive and the flip display is easy to read.
The hold function allows the user to save and reuse saved measurements and the unit’s mechanical lock makes transferring angles simple and quick. It features a 16-inch leg extension for hard-to-reach angles and offers a measuring range from 0°–220° with accuracy of 0.1°.
The Bosch GAM 270 MFL Digital Angle Finder and Inclinometer has the capabilities of the Bosch GAM 220 MF, plus an Inclinometer. So the tool is five tools in one: an angle finder, a simple miter cut calculator, a compound miter cut calculator, a level – plus the inclinometer. The unit offers dual displays for the inclinometer and miter functions; the inclinometer offers precise measurements in degrees and can be used to assess plumb for various installations, including ADA ramps. The angle finder provides accurate angle targets. The tool also is equipped with an integrated laser, which allows the user to transfer inclination measurements up to 100 ft. Angle range is 0º–270° with accuracy of 0.1° and the tool includes a 24-inch leg extension. The hold function allows the user to save measurements and the mechanical lock provides simple transfer of angles.
Both angle finders deliver results in percentages, plus metric or imperial measurements. The manual lock function allows users to quickly and accurately lock the legs of the tool to transfer positions comfortably.
“The overall functionality of the digital angle finders has dramatically increased,” said Stepahnie Dahl, product manager, measuring tools, BOSCH POWER TOOLS. “For example, the GAM 270 MFL allows users to measure angles, calculate miter cuts and measure inclination all with one tool. Plus users can store and recall specific angles from around the jobsite for consistency and increased productivity.”
Both the GAM 220 MF and GAM 270 MFL feature a rotating, illuminated flip display, making measurments and angles easier to read, even in dimly lit spaces. And the digital angle finders are now encased in IP 54 protected housing, making these some of the most durable and reliable Bosch angle finders available. IP 54 protection limits exposure to the dust, dirt and moisture found in the most rugged work environments. This keeps the tools working hard for up to 100 operational hours running on four standard AA batteries; each unit comes with a protective carrying case.
