Bosch X-LOCK Interface Hits Market to Make Simpler Grinder Wheel Changes a Snap

Advanced interface makes accessory change up to five times faster

Mt. Prospect, Ill. (Oct. 16, 2019) – Known as the leader in developing professional power tools systems, Bosch is making yet another ground-breaking technology available today with the official release of its X-LOCK interface for angle grinders. X-LOCK sets the bar high for industry standards by making accessory changes simpler and more cost effective than ever before.

Now available for purchase across North American markets, X-LOCK joins a collection of technically advanced tool interfaces including SDS-plus and SDS-max systems and Starlock oscillating technology. The first-of-its-kind interface alleviates complexity by offering a tool-free grinder wheel change that eliminates the need for spanner wrenches or flange nuts. There’s an audible snap when mounting an X-LOCK wheel on an X-LOCK grinder confirming a secure, proper connection. The wheel is released from the grinder with the pull of a lever - a process that is up to five times faster than that of conventional interfaces.

“X-LOCK is not just a tool or accessory. It is a solution born from Bosch’s concrete heritage and leadership developing professional interface systems for power tools,” said Mitch Burdick, product manager. “We have been highly anticipating this X-LOCK release because of the increased level of performance and ease it offers trade professionals who rely on grinders each day. It is also an interface that supports safe and consistent usage of the tool allowing the user to avoid having to track down missing parts such as spanner wrenches or flange nuts. Paired with our durable grinders, X-LOCK is the complete solution for greater functionality in a go-to jobsite tool.”

Bosch is also releasing a focused assortment of X-LOCK accessories to cover core applications in metalworking and concrete cutting including, but not limited to: bonded wheels, diamond wheels, flaps discs, wire wheels and cups, backing pads, and fiber discs. With the exception of wire wheels and wire cups, most accessories are backward compatible with standard 7/8-inch mounts. Bosch is partnering with various manufacturers to bring widespread access to the interface as it relates to accessories.
