The advantages of three-dimensional Starlock™ interface system evident in every application
Mt. Prospect, Ill., Apr. 10, 2017 – The Bosch GOP18V-28N 18-volt StarlockPlus™ Oscillating Multi-Tool is the next-generation cordless tool in the company’s oscillating tool lineup. The Starlock™ three-dimensional OMT interface, which offers more contact surface area for firm blade grip and maximum torque transfer, means better cutting, grinding, scraping and sanding.
The Bosch EC brushless motor provides consistent power and runtime, with a top speed of up to 20,000 oscillations per minute (opm) to complete heavy-duty applications. And it offers corded-tool performance and low maintenance to go with up to 30 percent more power and better efficiency over previous-generation 18-volt oscillators.
A variable-speed dial allows the user to set the optimal speed for the job while Constant Response circuitry maintains the desired speed under load. The GOP18V-28N is compatible with Bosch's full line of Starlock and StarlockPlus accessories for flush-cutting, plunge-cutting, sanding, grinding, grout removal and scraping.
“An oscillating tool with smooth, consistent power means the user gets greater precision as well,” said Jim Stevens, product manager, oscillating tools, Robert Bosch Tool Corporation. “A powerful cordless tool is the next big step in the Starlock oscillating multi-tool evolution. The Bosch GOP18V-28N Oscillating Multi-Tool is a refined tool that offers the benefits of cordless, but doesn’t skimp on the power advantages found in corded Starlock tools.”
The interface system was jointly developed by oscillating tool market leaders Bosch® and Fein®. The life of each Starlock oscillating tool model is maximized by allowing it to accept only the accessories that are suited for it.
The Starlock oscillating tool interface system is built around the innovative 3-D interface created for high torque transfer and superior performance in the most challenging applications. The blade snaps on to the tool and provides better blade grip and greater accessory stabilization. The Starlock interface builds on Bosch's heritage of innovation in professional tool-accessory interfaces, such as the SDS-plus® and SDS-max® for concrete drilling tools and T-shank for jig saws.
A pull of the release lever allows a Starlock accessory to detach from the tool – no more fumbling with wrenches or touching hot blades. This system also makes it easy to reposition StarlockPlus or Starlock accessories in any of 12 positions (every 30 degrees).
It has a 2.8° oscillating arc for better accessory utilization and increased productivity; reinforced metal gear housing add to the tool’s ability to generate optimal force. An LED light provides illumination for dark areas.
The Bosch GOP18V-28N StarlockPlus Oscillating Multi-Tool bare tool weighs only 2.7 pounds and measures 12.6 inches long, making it compact enough to reach into corners and other tight spaces. The GOP18V-28 provides multiple soft-grip areas for better control and added comfort.
